Carthage Police set up a license checkpoint Saturday night along Highway 15-501, right in front of the Carthage Municipal Building.
The checkpoint ran from 8:30 p.m. until about 1 a.m. and was a joint effort with Pinebluff Police and Vass Police. Carthage Fire was also on scene, providing lighting to make the area safer and more visible for drivers.

Police said the night wrapped up without any arrests. However, several citations were issued, including multiple driving with a revoked license, failure to provide a driver’s license and expired registrations.
Similar checkpoints have been taking place across Moore County in recent months. Officers say the most recent events are showing a drop in serious violations, which they see as a sign that drivers are paying attention.
