Teen airlifted after car flips multiple times in West End crash

A Pinecrest High School student was airlifted to a trauma center Monday night after a violent single-vehicle crash along Carthage Road in West End.

The crash happened near Patton Road when the teenage driver, who was headed toward Carthage, lost control in a curve and the vehicle rolled several times, according to Troopers.

Firefighters from West End Fire and Rescue had to cut the roof off the car to reach and free the driver. Emergency crews then transported her to a nearby landing zone at the West End Fire station, where a medical helicopter took her to a trauma center.

Carthage Road was closed for about 45 minutes while first responders cleared the scene. Debris, including shattered glass, was scattered across the roadway.

Officials have not released the teen’s condition.

Moore County News delayed posting details about this crash due to the driver’s age to allow officials time to notify family members.
