Two vehicles struck a downed tree that was blocking a roadway near Carthage around midnight Friday into Saturday, according to emergency radio traffic.
Emergency crews were dispatched to Beulah Hill Church Road near Carthage Road after a caller reported a tree had fallen across the roadway. The first unit from Seven Lakes Fire & Rescue to arrive reported that two vehicles had struck the tree.
No injuries were reported.
Additional manpower from Eastwood Fire Department was requested to assist with removing the tree and clearing the roadway.
The incident came after heavy rain fell across the area Friday as a severe storm moved through Moore County. The area was also under a flash flood warning during the evening due to the amount of rainfall.
