Pee Dee Road in Aberdeen to close for live fire training on April 25

The Aberdeen Fire & Rescue Department, along with other local fire departments, will conduct a live fire training exercise on Thursday, April 25, at 808 Pee Dee Road. The exercise will take place from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and will involve the controlled burning of a residential structure.

To ensure the safety of both residents and emergency personnel, Pee Dee Road will be closed to through traffic between Chapel Greens Place and Foothill Street for the duration of the training. Drivers are encouraged to access Pee Dee Road from US 15-501 during this time.

Residents should expect to see heavy smoke in the area periodically throughout the day. These realistic training scenarios are essential for enhancing firefighter preparedness and response in real-life emergency situations.
