Several people, including a child, were taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash along U.S. 15-501 in Carthage just before noon Friday.
The crash happened at the intersection of U.S. 15-501 and Savannah Garden Drive and involved a Toyota Corolla and a Honda CR-V.
The Corolla was occupied only by its driver, while the CR-V had multiple occupants, including a child. All occupants of both vehicles were transported to the hospital with injuries believed to be minor.
Carthage police told Moore County News at the scene that the CR-V was traveling southbound on U.S. 15-501 when the Corolla attempted to turn left from Savannah Garden Drive to travel northbound on U.S. 15-501. The Corolla entered the path of the CR-V, and the CR-V struck the driver’s side of the Corolla.
Carthage Fire & Rescue assisted with patient care at the scene, while Moore County Sheriff’s deputies diverted traffic around the crash.
Traffic along U.S. 15-501 was delayed for an extended period while first responders worked the scene and crews cleared the damaged vehicles.
Carthage Police are investigating the crash.
