Truck goes into wood line after swerving to avoid deer

Published on

A driver traveling down Glendon Carthage Road in northern Moore County swerved to avoid deer and ended up in a wood line on Monday night. The crash happened south of Putnam Glendon Road just after 7 p.m.

Troopers say the driver saw two deer cross in front of him on the road. The driver initially swerved to the right to avoid hitting the deer, overcorrected, and skid sideways off the roadway. The vehicle came to a stop in a wood line along the side of the road.

Highfalls firefighters closed the northbound lane of Glendon Carthage, and directed drivers around the crash scene.

The driver was not injured in the wreck.
