One juvenile shot in Aberdeen parking lot, airlifted in critical condition

Published on

One juvenile has been shot in the parking lot of the former Dick’s Sporting Goods building, now home to “Going Going Gone,” in Aberdeen.

Aberdeen Police say three juveniles were involved in an altercation when one of them pulled out a gun and shot one of the others.

Emergency crews responded to the scene Sunday just after 10 p.m. and airlifted the victim to a trauma center. They are reported to be in critical condition.

Aberdeen Police remain on scene and are actively investigating the circumstances surrounding the shooting. APD Chief Brian Chavis said they have persons of interest identified, and that this was not a random incident.

This is a developing story. Moore County News will provide updates as more details become available.
