One injured in Murdocksville Road crash

A passenger was injured in a single-vehicle crash that involved a pick-up truck hitting several trees along Murdocksville Road on Tuesday afternoon.

First responders were dispatched to the 3000 block of Murdocksville Road, where they arrived to find a heavily damaged pickup truck following a collision with large trees. On the scene, Moore County News was informed that the passenger was transported to the hospital, though details on their injuries were not given.

Troopers investigating the crash reported that the driver was heading toward Pinehurst at a speed too fast to navigate a curve in the road. The vehicle veered off the right side, ran through the front yard of a home, and came to a stop after crashing into several pine trees.

The driver was not injured in the collision.
