VIDEO: Pinebluff traffic operation ends with 4 arrests, nearly 50 citations

Officers from multiple agencies conducted a traffic operation on U.S. 1 in Pinebluff on January 18 as part of the North Carolina Governors Highway Safety Program initiative.

This high visibility enforcement and saturation event was hosted by the Pinebluff Police Department, and included officers Pinebluff, Foxfire Police, Vass Police, North Carolina State Highway Patrol, Aberdeen Police, and Carthage Police. In total, 18 law enforcement officers were on scene at the event.

Moore County News rode along with Pinebluff Deputy Chief Thomas during the three hour event. The video below shows some of the situations that happened during the event.

According to Thomas, officers confiscated an illegally concealed firearm, arrested two individuals on outstanding warrants, apprehended one person after a three-mile pursuit that ended with the usage of stop sticks, and arrested another for DWI.

Police reported issuing 47 citations, including charges for driving with a revoked license, expired registration, no liability insurance, fleeing to elude arrest, drug paraphernalia possession, driving without a license, displaying a fictitious registration plate, window tint violations, speeding, driving while impaired, illegal weapon concealment, and resisting arrest.

The event began at 4 p.m. with a one hour briefing with all participating officers and finished at 8 p.m. Three vehicles were towed by the Pinebluff Police Department’s wrecker rotation service. The North Carolina Booze It and Lose It “Bat Mobile” was set up at the Pinebluff Police Department to assist in the event.
