Three-vehicle crash causes major delays on NC 211 near West End Elementary

A three-vehicle crash on N.C. Highway 211 caused major traffic backups Friday evening in front of West End Elementary School, but no injuries were reported, according to the West End Fire Department.

The crash happened shortly before 6 p.m. when a Land Rover rear-ended a Chevrolet Silverado, investigators said. The impact was forceful enough to twist the Land Rover’s front right tire to a 90-degree angle.

The collision pushed the Silverado into a third vehicle, which sustained minor damage.

A witness at the scene told Moore County News that the Land Rover appeared to be traveling above the posted speed limit before the crash.

The wreck led to significant westbound delays along Highway 211 as first responders worked to clear the scene.
