A two-vehicle crash in front of the Tractor Supply on U.S. 1 in Vass sent one person to the hospital Thursday afternoon and left both vehicles heavily damaged.
The crash happened on the northbound side of U.S. 1 just before 4:45 p.m. when, according to troopers, a Chevrolet Silverado traveling southbound attempted to turn left into the Tractor Supply parking lot. The Silverado turned directly into the path of a northbound FIAT Abarth 500, causing a violent T-bone collision, troopers said.

The compact FIAT sustained significant front-end damage and was forced off the roadway into a nearby ditch. The Silverado suffered extensive damage to its passenger side.
The driver of the Silverado was transported by Moore County EMS to the hospital with injuries believed to be non-life threatening. The driver of the FIAT was evaluated by paramedics at the scene and did not require transport.
Troopers have charged the Silverado’s driver with failure to yield the right of way.
Traffic was slowed in the northbound lanes of U.S. 1 as emergency crews worked to clear the wreckage. The scene was cleared shortly after 5:30 p.m.
