Driver flees after crash near Farm Life School Road

Authorities are investigating a single-vehicle crash that happened along Niagara-Carthage Road near Farm Life School Road Monday night.

Emergency crews were called to the scene around 9 p.m. after a Toyota Corolla ran off the road and hit a tree. When firefighters arrived, they found the car but no driver. Officials said the person behind the wheel had fled on foot heading toward Carthage.

Firefighters and law enforcement searched the area, but there’s been no word yet on whether the driver has been located. The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
