The Pinebluff Police Department announced the arrest of two individuals following a traffic stop that led to the discovery of illegal substances and multiple charges.
On Friday, April 11, a K-9 officer with the Pinebluff Police Department conducted a routine traffic stop along U.S. Highway 1 near Currant Street that escalated into a drug investigation. The department’s K-9, Jett, was used during the stop, ultimately leading to a total of 15 charges filed against three of the vehicle’s five occupants.
Troy Lynn Miller, of Red Springs, North Carolina, was arrested and charged with:
- Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
- Misdemeanor possession of marijuana
- Misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia
- Six traffic violations, including four misdemeanors
Michael Dakota Locklear, of Lumberton, North Carolina, was also arrested and faces the following charges:
- Felony possession of Schedule II drugs
- Misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia
- Misdemeanor possession of marijuana paraphernalia
- Misdemeanor simple possession of Schedule II drugs
A third occupant was cited and released after being charged with misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
Locklear and Miller were transported to the Moore County Detention Center, where each received a $10,000 secure bond.
The Pinebluff Police Department credited the successful outcome of the stop to the keen work of its K-9 unit and emphasized its continued commitment to keeping the community safe from illegal drug activity.
