One person injured in U.S. 1 crash involving semi-truck

A crash involving a semi-truck and a car on U.S. 1 southbound at Addor Road left one person injured and caused traffic delays Thursday afternoon.

According to authorities, the car was traveling south on U.S. 1 when it was T-boned by the semi, which was attempting to cross the highway to Thunder Road. The impact left the driver of the car trapped inside their vehicle until firefighters arrived and were able to free them.

Emergency responders transported the driver to the hospital for treatment. The extent of their injuries was not immediately known. The driver of the semi was not injured in the crash.

The collision blocked the outside lane of U.S. 1 southbound, causing traffic delays as crews worked to clear the scene.
