Two-vehicle crash closes busy Southern Pines intersection

A two-vehicle crash shut down the busy intersection of Central Drive and Pee Dee Road in Southern Pines around 3 p.m. Friday.

Moore County News was on the scene where a Chevy Silverado crashed into the driver’s side of a Ford F-150. The Silverado was heading down Central Drive toward Southern Pines when the F-150 attempted a left turn onto Central Drive.

The driver and passenger of the F-150 were evaluated by paramedics on the scene. The driver of the Silverado did not appear to be injured.

Southern Pines firefighters redirected traffic around the crash scene as crews worked to investigate and clear the area.
