Subway in Carthage abruptly closes

Published on

The Subway restaurant in Carthage has abruptly permanently closed, according to several online sources. The restaurant is locally owned and operated.

Several employees of the establishment, located next to Food Lion, have posted online that the owner came in on Friday morning and told employees the restaurant was closing for good, and they were all being let go.

Moore County News visited the location Friday afternoon, where brown paper has been placed covering the windows and door. MCN also called the business for comment and received a generic voicemail greeting.

On Friday night, Moore County News observed the owner loading chairs out of the restaurant and asked about the closing. He stated that their lease was not renewed, and at this time there are no concrete plans to reopen in another location. The owner also said they do not own other locations in the area.
