A male driver fled the scene of a crash after flipping his vehicle. The crash happened around 11:45 p.m. Sunday where Moore and Lee counties meet on Page Store Road.

The Trooper investigating the crash told Moore County News the man approached a sharp curve along Page Store Road at a high speed. The driver was unable to make the curve, went off the right side of the road, crashed through a mailbox before hitting a drainage ditch. The impact with the ditch caused the vehicle to flip, come to rest on its side.

The driver reportedly got out of the vehicle on his own, and fled the scene on foot. A brief search in the area was conducted, but the driver was not found.

Lee County deputies and fire fighters first responded to the scene, as the crash was believed to be within their county. They requested UNC Carolina Air Care, which was cancelled once authorities were unable to locate the driver. Moore County units were dispatched once it was determined the crash happened within Moore County jurisdiction.
