Two-vehicle crash reduces Hwy 24/27 to single lane

Published on

A Saturday morning crash on Highway 24/27 reduced the road to a single lane between Oakley Road and James H Road.

Emergency crews responded to the scene around 10:30 a.m. They arrived to a Buick sedan blocking the eastbound lane, and a Toyota Tacoma pick-up truck off the shoulder of the road.

Troopers investigating the crash say both vehicles were traveling westbound on Highway 24/27. The driver of the Buick wanted to make a u-turn, and started to turn left into a driveway. At the same time, the driver of the Toyota attempted to pass the Buick in a passing lane.

The driver of the Buick was transported to the hospital with what was reported to be pain in the chest. The driver of the Toyota was not injured.

Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue worked to manage traffic flow and clear the scene.
