Teen dies in crash on Rose Ridge Road

A local 17-year-old has died after the truck he was driving collided with several trees along Rose Ridge Road south of Foxfire. The crash happened Tuesday just before 9:45 a.m.

According to Troopers, the pick-up truck ran off the right side of the road, rolled, and hit several trees. The vehicle’s cab roof was smashed by the impact.

A West End Fire & Rescue crew stationed in Foxfire responded to the scene, and reported there was one fatality. The roof of the truck had to be cut off to so that rescue workers could access the driver.

Troopers said at this time, they are not sure why the truck ran off the road, but speed was a factor.

Rose Ridge Road was closed while the crash was investigated.
