T-bone collision closes lane of 15-501, power pole damaged

A T-bone collision has one lane of Highway 15-501 closed near the county line.

The crash happened at the intersection with Stanton Hill Road before 9 p.m. on Thursday.

A van owned by Moore County had heavy front end damage, and a Chevy Suburban had heavy damage to the passenger side and front.

According to authorities, the driver of the van ran a stop sign at the intersection and slammed into the passenger side of the Suburban. The Suburban made impact with a power pole after the initial collision.

Firefighters from Cypress Pointe closed the northbound lane of Highway 15-501, using the center lane to get motorist around the crash.

No one was injured.
