A major crash at the intersection of U.S. Highway 1 and Addor Road sent four people to area hospitals, including a small child that was flown out by helicopter to UNC Hospital in Chapel Hill. The collision happened before 3 p.m. on Monday.

According to Troopers who are investigating the crash, a Ford Fusion was crossing into U.S. 1 from Thunder Road into the path of a northbound minivan. The minivan collided with the Fusion on the passenger side, and the impact caused the Fusion to overturn and get pushed into a tree.

An adult and child were in the minivan, the adult was transported by Moore County EMS to the hospital. Two adults and a child were in the Fusion, the two adults were also taken by EMS to the hospital. The young child was transported by UNC Carolina AirCare from a landing zone close to the crash site. Pinebluff Fire & Rescue closed Addor Road for over an hour so that the crash could be investigated and cleared.
