A pedestrian was hit by a vehicle in the parking lot of Sheetz in Carthage just after 7 p.m. Saturday, police said.

The person who was struck was able to get up and walk around after the incident, according to authorities. Paramedics evaluated the individual at the scene, but they were not taken to the hospital.

Police urged both drivers and pedestrians to remain alert in parking lots, noting that hazards can appear quickly and unexpectedly.
