One vehicle overturns on N.C. 5, no injuries

N.C. Highway 5 was partially closed while first responders cleared a two-vehicle crash at the intersection with Shaw Road SE in Pinehurst on Friday. The crash happened around 10:45 a.m.

Fire crews arrived to the scene to an overturned Ford Transit Connect and an Alfa Romeo Stelvio with front end damage. Both vehicles were out of the roadway.

Pinehurst Police Department investigated the crash, and told Moore County News at the scene, the Ford was crossing N.C. Highway 5 from Shaw Road into the path of the Stelvio traveling south on the highway. They say the driver of the Ford stopped at the stop sign, and was waved to cross by the driver of a northbound vehicle.

No one was injured in the crash. Crews closed a portion of N.C. 5 between Shaw Road and Ritter Road so tow trucks could tow both vehicles.
