One person arrested at Southern Pines barber shop, faces multiple drug charges

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office in collaboration with the Southern Pines Police Department arrested one person after the execution of search warrants at Fox Cuts Baber Shop located in Southern Pines.

Officers from both agencies searched properties on West Massachusetts Avenue and West Morganton Road on December 6, 2024. During the search, authorities seized 80.1 grams of cocaine, 2.1 pounds of marijuana, oxycodone, items of drug paraphernalia, and two firearms.

Chavez Depaul Fox, 43, of Southern Pines, was arrested and charged with multiple offenses, including trafficking in cocaine by possession, possession with intent to sell and deliver cocaine, felony possession of cocaine, possession with intent to sell and deliver marijuana, felony possession of marijuana, maintaining a vehicle or dwelling for controlled substances, simple possession of marijuana, simple possession of a Schedule II controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia, and two counts of possession of a firearm by a felon.

Fox was held on a 48-hour hold. His court date is scheduled for December 12, 2024 in Moore County District Court.
