One person was flown to a trauma center after a single vehicle crash involving a motorcycle outside of Carthage.

Emergency crews were dispatched to the 3700 block of Dowd Road just before 7:30 p.m. A passerby called 9-1-1 to report the crash, and told dispatchers the motorcyclist was alert and talking.
UNC Carolina Air Care was placed on stand by immediately. When Seven Lakes Fire & Rescue arrived to the scene, they requested Air Care to respond and set up a landing zone on Carthage Road near Fat Monkey Express.

Moore County News arrived on the crash scene as Moore County EMS were attending to the motorcyclist at the scene. The rider was seen lying on the ground about 20 feet from where the motorcycle came to rest.
According to authorities, the motorcyclist was traveling on Dowd Road and approached a curve at a high rate of speed. They went off the left side of the road hitting a ditch.
The road was reduced to one lane of travel while crews cleared the scene. The condition of the motorcyclist is unknown at this time.
