A two-vehicle crash involving a motorcycle closed N.C. Highway 24-27 for about an hour on Sunday afternoon.
First responders were dispatched to the scene at Marley Road after 3:15 p.m., arriving to a motorcyclist on the ground.

Authorities immediately requested support from UNC Carolina Air Care, which landed near the scene within minutes of the crash. The motorcyclist was airlifted to UNC-Chapel Hill.
Investigators say the motorcycle was traveling east on Highway 24-27 behind an Acura RDX. The Acura came to a stop behind a truck turning left onto Marley Road, when the motorcyclist collided into the back of the Acura.
A passenger in the Acura was also injured and was transported to the hospital by ambulance.
The highway was closed between Plank Road and Flint Hill Church Road.
