Published on

A small child is recovering after a near drowning incident at Pinebluff Lake on Thursday afternoon, according to Pinebluff Police.

Authorities say the child’s parent realized the child was missing and immediately began searching for her along with others at the lake. One of the individuals searching felt the girl under the water with his foot and quickly pulled her out. At that time, the child was not breathing.

Bystanders immediately began CPR, and by the time firefighters arrived on the scene, the child was alert and conscious.

The child was transported to the hospital for further evaluation. Her current condition has not been released.

Pinebluff Police have not provided additional details, but they say the quick actions of bystanders likely saved the child’s life.
