A driver was taken to the hospital Monday afternoon after a single-vehicle crash on Bethlehem Church Road near J. Dowdy Road.

The crash happened just after 2 p.m. when an older model Ford F-150 ran off the right side of the road and hit a tree head-on.

First responders said the driver appeared disoriented when they arrived but was already standing outside the truck. He was evaluated at the scene before being taken to the hospital for further treatment.

One lane of Bethlehem Church Road was closed for a short time while firefighters and law enforcement worked to clear the area and investigate the crash.

Authorities have not released the driver’s name or what may have caused the truck to leave the road.
