Crash near Carthage leaves one airlifted Sunday afternoon

One person was airlifted Sunday afternoon following a crash along Putnam Glendon Road north of Carthage.

The crash happened at the intersection of Putnam Glendon Road and Herbie Road, prompting a large emergency response to the area.

Officials set up a landing zone in a nearby field off Hinson Road, where a medical helicopter arrived to transport the injured person.

Authorities have not released the condition of the person who was airlifted.

No additional details about the cause of the crash or whether other vehicles were involved have been released.
