Crash at N.C. 73, Murdocksville Road sends one to hospital

One person was taken to the hospital following a two-vehicle crash Saturday night at the intersection of N.C. 73 and Murdocksville Road in the Eastwood community.

The crash happened around 9:15 p.m. and involved a Honda CR-V and a Toyota Camry.

Emergency crews closed the intersection while responders worked the scene. N.C. 73 reopened approximately 30 minutes after the crash, while Murdocksville Road north of N.C. 73 remained closed until the scene could be fully cleared.

The Honda was occupied only by the driver, who was transported to the hospital for treatment. The extent of the driver’s injuries was not immediately available.

Two people were in the Toyota. Both were evaluated at the scene by paramedics.

The cause of the crash was not immediately available.
