A police chase Sunday evening that started in Foxfire ended Sunday evening with two people in custody, and a search for a third person near Food Lion on N.C. Highway 5 in Aberdeen.

Authorities tell Moore County News that an officer for Foxfire Police initiated a traffic stop with a Nissan Altima without a license plate displayed. The driver of the Altima led police on a chase down Hoffman Road and onto N.C. Highway 211 towards Pinehurst. Moore County News saw deputies with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office searching an area of Highway 211 near the entrance of Pinewild for items that allegedly were tossed from the Altima during the chase.

The chase made its way onto N.C. Highway 5 through Pinehurst, where the front driver’s side tired came completely off of the Altima. Eventually, the driver pulled into the Food Lion parking lot on Highway 5 and came to a stop. Three people were inside the Altima, two were arrested at the scene, and one person ran on foot.

Law enforcement was seen searching the Jackson Hamlet neighborhood for the suspect that ran on foot. At the time of publication, the third suspect had not been caught.

Foxfire Police, Moore County Sheriff Deputies, Pinehurst Police, Aberdeen Police, and N.C. State Highway Patrol helped in the search.
