Car overturns on Highway 690

Published on

A single-vehicle crashed and overturned on Thursday night along Highway 690 at Twin Ponds Lane outside of Vass.

The call was dispatched just before 9:15 p.m. and fire crews arrived minutes later. Once on scene, they were able to confirm the two occupants made it out of the vehicle on their own.

The N.C. State Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. Troopers say the vehicle was traveling eastbound on 690 when the driver ran off the road, over-corrected and crossed the center line before rolling over.

AirCare was placed on standby as a precaution, but was not needed. Both occupants were transported to Moore Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

Troopers tell Moore County News that it’s possible alcohol is factor, as there was an open container in the vehicle. Multiple charges are expected.
