A woman was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving Sunday night after a crash brought down a power pole and closed Highway 24-27 just outside of Cameron.
The crash happened just before 9:30 p.m. near the intersection of Nickens Road and involved a Pontiac Solstice.
According to state troopers, the driver ran off the roadway several times on both sides of Highway 24-27 before the car spun and collided with a power pole. Troopers said speed was also a factor in the crash.
The vehicle struck the pole on the driver’s side door, bringing the pole down and leaving it blocking the highway.
The woman was the only person in the vehicle and was not injured.
Troopers said the driver was arrested on suspicion of DWI involving an impairing substance other than alcohol.
Highway 24-27 was closed in the area following the crash as emergency crews worked at the scene and dealt with the downed power pole.
All defendants are presumed innocent unless and until proven guilty in court.
