A large tree came crashing down on a car and reportedly struck part of a house in Vass on Thursday evening as strong storms moved through the area.

The incident happened around 7 p.m. in the 100 block of Union Church Road. Despite the damage, no injuries were reported.

The Moore County area experienced heavy rainfall Thursday afternoon as a strong storm cell swept through, bringing wind gusts, torrential rain and reports of hail in some areas. The high winds likely contributed to the tree falling.

Emergency crews responded to the scene, but the extent of the property damage has not been released. The storm was part of a broader system that affected much of central North Carolina throughout the evening.
