West End man arrested on multiple drug and weapon charges

Moore County Sheriff Ronnie Fields announced the arrest of a West End man following the execution of a search warrant that uncovered a substantial quantity of drugs, firearms, and cash, according to police.

On Friday, April 11, detectives with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office carried out a search warrant at a residence in the 3600 block of Murdocksville Road in West End. Authorities say during the search, they seized fentanyl, methamphetamine, MDMA (ecstasy), amphetamine, alprazolam, marijuana, multiple firearms, drug paraphernalia, and more than $1,200 in cash.

As a result of the investigation, 31-year-old Louis Charles Gustafson of West End was arrested and faces a long list of drug and weapons-related charges. These include:

• Trafficking methamphetamine by possession

• Possession with intent to sell and deliver methamphetamine

• Felony possession of a Schedule I controlled substance

• Possession with intent to sell and deliver Schedule I and IV controlled substances

• Two counts of felony possession of a Schedule II controlled substance

• Manufacture of marijuana

• Simple possession of Schedule IV and VI controlled substances

• Possession of drug paraphernalia

• Maintaining a vehicle, dwelling, or place for controlled substances

• Possession of a weapon of mass destruction

• Possession of a firearm by a felon

Gustafson was booked into the Moore County Detention Center under a $50,000 secured bond. He is scheduled to appear in District Court on May 7, 2025.
