No injuries after SUV hits tractor on Airport Road

A crash caused significant damage to a Toyota SUV after it collided with a tractor, but no injuries were reported.

The incident happened along Airport Road just outside of the Lakeview community on Wednesday afternoon.

Authorities report that both vehicles were headed toward Lakeview when the Toyota driver looked down and failed to notice the tractor ahead, smacking into the back of the tractor.

UNC Carolina Air Care was initially placed on standby but was cancelled when Moore County paramedics evaluated the driver of the tractor, and he did not appear to be injured.

Firefighters from Cypress Pointe closed Airport Road to one lane, and directed traffic around the crash while it was investigated and cleared.
