Three vehicles were damaged by flames at a house on Providence Chapel Road near Robbins on Saturday.

First responders were dispatched to a vehicle fire call around 12:30 p.m. The 911 caller told dispatch the vehicle in fire was close to other vehicles and a house. It was upgraded to a structure fire shortly after due to the house being close to the fire.

A deputy with the Moore County Sheriff’s Office was the first on scene, and reported two vehicles were fully involved. He also reported that people were still inside the house and he was working to get them to leave.

Robbins Fire & Rescue arrived a short time later and quickly extinguished the blaze, preventing the fire from spreading to the house.

A BMW sedan parked under a carport was completely burned out in the fire, and a Chevy Silverado was also badly burned. A Honda Civic that was parked close to the BMW had heat damage to the driver’s side of the vehicle.

According to Moore County Detention Center arrest records, Alex Farris, 55, of Robbins was arrested and charged with three counts of burning personal property and one count of injury to personal property.

Westmoore Fire and Highfalls Fire were also dispatched to the scene, but were cancelled prior to arriving.
