A woman from Asheboro was injured when she crashed into a parked vehicle along the 400 block of McReynolds Street in Carthage. The collision happened Wednesday around 5 p.m.

The owner of a Ford F-150 told Moore County News on scene that he was making a food delivery, when he heard a loud sound. That’s when he realized his truck that was parked had been hit by the driver of a Kia sedan.

According to authorities, the woman was traveling west along McReynolds Street when she looked down, and veered to the right, striking the Ford F-150.

The driver of the Kia was transported to the hospital with minor injuries, she was the only occupant of the Kia. A dog was the only occupant of the F-150 at the time of the collision, and appeared to be uninjured during the crash.

Carthage Fire & Rescue directed traffic around the scene using the eastbound lane of McReynolds Street.

The driver of the Kia is facing multiple charges.
