T-bone collision closes westbound lane of Hwy 73

Published on

On Wednesday afternoon, the Eastwood Fire Department had to shut down the westbound lane of Highway 73, after a t-bone collision at the intersection with Beulah Hill Church Road. One of the vehicles involved rolled over due to the impact.

N.C. State Highway Patrol says, the crash happened when the driver of a Honda SUV traveling north on Beulah Hill Church Road, failed to yield to a Ford traveling westbound on Highway 73. The two vehicles crossed the intersection at the same time, causing the Honda to collide with the Ford on the driver’s side. The Ford came to rest on it’s side in the westbound lane of Hwy 73.

The driver of the Ford was briefly checked out at the scene by Moore County EMS personnel, and refused treatment. The driver of the Honda did not appear to be injured, and was cited with failure to yield.
