A two-vehicle crash on Monday afternoon caused the westbound lanes of Highway 211 to be closed temporarily at Aviemore Drive.

Pinehurst Police say the collision happened just before 1 p.m., when the driver of a Dodge Challenger attempted to turn onto Hwy 211 from Aviemore Drive, into the path of an oncoming Hyundai.

According to the Pinehurst Fire Department, the driver of the Hyundai was transported to FirstHealth Moore Regional Hospital with minor injuries.

The westbound lanes were shutdown for about 15 minutes, until the crews were able to clear the wreckage to one lane. The outside lane remained closed until the scene was cleared.
