A two-vehicle collision forced Pinebluff firefighters to close the southbound lanes of U.S. 1 on Friday morning. The crash happened just after 11:15 a.m. at the intersection with Chicago Avenue. Firefighters directed southbound traffic using the center lane of the highway.
Pinebluff Police investigated the crash, and told Moore County News on scene, the driver of a Ford Explorer was trying to cross the highway on Chicago Avenue when is collided with a southbound Honda Accord.
According to authorities, the driver of the Explorer had an injury to his leg, and the driver of the Accord was evaluated by Moore County paramedics at the scene.
Pinebluff Police said both drivers were charged with no operator license, and the driver of the Explorer was also charged with failure to yield.
