A portion of McCrimmon Road was closed on Saturday afternoon following a two-vehicle collision that took place around 1:45 p.m. at the intersection with Highway 15-501.

According to investigating troopers, the Chevy pick-up truck, which was hauling a long trailer, was attempting to turn onto McCrimmon Road from the highway when it collided with the Subaru Forester traveling along the highway. Troopers say both drivers gave conflicting statements regarding the circumstances of the crash.

Firefighters closed the area of McCrimmon Road at Highway 15-501 for about an hour. The NCDOT were also called to the scene to repair a stop sign that was knocked down as a result of the crash.

Both drivers were evaluated by Moore County EMS, and did not appear to be injured.

A deputy from the Moore County Sheriff’s Office responded to the scene to assist.
