TRAX store suffers damage from small fire

Published on

The small TRAX convenience store on Highway 15-501 outside of Carthage suffered damages from a small electrical fire on Friday afternoon.

Firefighters arrived to the scene around 3:30 p.m. to flames and smoke coming from a wall on the right side of the building. A firefighter that was nearby arrived in his personal vehicle and used a fire extinguisher to knock down the flames until a fire engine could arrive. Once the fire engine arrived, firefighters were able to quickly extinguish the fire complete.

Investigators say it appears the fire was caused by faulty electrical wiring.
