Structure fire destroys RV in Robbins on Memorial Day

First responders were called to the scene of a structure fire on Sunset Place in Robbins Memorial Day afternoon, where an RV was found fully engulfed in flames.

Authorities said one person had been living in the RV with his dog at the time of the fire. According to officials, the resident told them he had walked down the road briefly, and upon returning, discovered the RV in flames.

The resident also reported that his dog was inside the structure when he left. It is currently unclear whether the dog was trapped inside or managed to escape. Fire officials have not confirmed if any animal remains were found.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
