The last time Moore County saw a measurable amount of snow was 2023, but that could change Friday night into Saturday morning.
A system of moisture is poised to move over our area during the late hours of Friday, and if the temperatures are low enough, that could mean snow. Weather models have Moore County along the line of freezing weather, so that will likely mean a mix of snow, sleet, and rain. But a shift in that freeze line could make all the difference.
The forecast at the time of publication (Wednesday 3 p.m.) has a chance of snow on Friday after 4 p.m., then likely snow later Friday night. The snow will continue overnight to Saturday morning, mostly before 7 a.m. After that time, Moore County will likely see a mix of snow, sleet, and rain.
Total accumulation will likely be between 1 to 3 inches. The sun will eventually peak out later in the day Saturday, melting away most of what accumulated overnight.
Snow lovers should set their alarms for early Saturday morning to enjoy any snow accumulation.
