Single-vehicle crash closes one lane of U.S. 1 North

A Friday morning single-vehicle crash shut down a lane of U.S. 1 North near Vass.

Just after 10 a.m., first responders arrived at the scene of a heavily damaged Nissan Sentra that had struck a tree. Although the vehicle was off the roadway, firefighters closed the right lane of the highway to ensure a safe investigation of the crash.

Troopers say the driver of the Sentra was traveling northbound U.S. 1 when she lost control of the vehicle, spun off the roadway, and collided into the tree.

The driver was transported to the hospital with minors injuries.
