Shell casings left scattered after drive-by shooting in broad daylight

The Moore County Sheriff’s Office is investigating a drive-by shooting that happened in broad daylight on Monday afternoon.

MCSO deputies were dispatched to the 100 block of Lone Pine Road in Lakeview near Vass around 5 p.m. Moore County News saw at least nine shell casings scattered along the street, and bullet holes were seen in a vehicle and a house.

The road was closed to traffic while investigators were on the scene. Major Eric Galloway with the MCSO says deputies canvassed the area conducting interviews with possible witnesses.

No one was reported injured in the shooting. The MCSO continues to investigate.
