A recreational vehicle was completely destroyed in an early morning fire Wednesday near the Eastwood community.

The blaze was reported around 12:30 a.m. on Jackson Road near Lea Road. A neighbor called 911, reporting that someone may have been inside the RV when the fire started.

Fire crews arrived quickly and were able to extinguish the flames before they spread, but the RV was a total loss.

Officials later confirmed that the person believed to have been inside the RV was located safe at a different location. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
