A quick response from Cypress Pointe Fire & Rescue prevented a fire in a vehicle spreading to a house in Cameron on Saturday.

First responders were dispatched to a house along Jim S Road, off of Shaw Road, just before 10 p.m.

A Moore County Sheriff Deputy was the first to arrive on scene, and reported the vehicle that was on fire was close to a structure. Additional fire units were dispatched at that time.

Moore County News arrived with the first fire engine on scene, and saw flames coming from the rear bed of a Toyota Tacoma. There were also some flames visible on the grass around the vehicle, moving towards a nearby home.

Firefighters quickly attacked the flames and within 60 seconds, the flames were extinguished.

There was no indication of what started the fire. This was the second vehicle fire that MCN covered on Saturday. The first fire near Robbins resulted in three vehicles being damaged, and one person arrested.
