A pregnant woman was hospitalized Friday morning after her Ford Escape overturned in a single-vehicle crash on Highway 73 near Carthage Road.

According to state troopers, the crash happened around 11:30 a.m. when the SUV’s brakes locked up, causing the driver to lose control. The vehicle veered off the roadway and flipped, landing on its driver’s side.

Moore County EMS transported the woman, the sole occupant of the vehicle, to Moore Regional Hospital for evaluation. Her condition has not been released.

One lane of Highway 73 was temporarily closed as authorities investigated the crash.
